<p>For any sports that need higher <strong>jumping exercises</strong> there are two types of flexibility, static and dynamic. Static flexibility is demonstrated when a body segment is held in a position that stretches a muscle.</p>
<p>Dynamic flexibility is the ability of a muscle to quickly stretch to a length beyond the limit of static flexibility and then shorten immediately rather than be held. Having high static flexibility does not guarantee high dynamic flexibility, and improving one may or may not improve the other.</p>
<p>In higher <em>jumping exercises</em> flexibility is important for being able to place body segments in the best position for force production and for allowing high speed joint movement, but it is never necessary for a muscle to be held in a stretched position.</p>
<p>Flexibility is vital to athletic ability. Muscles need to be able to stretch to allow for fluid joint movement, both when applying high forces and when moving body segments into position for applying high forces. Also, with muscular flexibility comes the ability to stretch and contract.</p>
<p>Most people will benefit from increased flexibility. For athletes, <a href="http://howtojumphigherr.com/jump-higher-for-basketball">jump higher for basketball</a> dynamic flexibility rather than static is the goal, so simply doing static stretches is not the best way to achieve the ideal level of flexibility.</p>
<p>You can use these steps for flexibility <strong>jumping exercises</strong>:</p>
<p>1. A dynamic warm up precedes every workout. Hip extension is the target joint movement, with knee extension being the secondary focus. Using a wide range of motion in strength training, since it not only requires that the body segments be placed in a position that stretches the muscles, it requires strength and explosiveness from that position.</p>
<p>2. The same focus on range of motion during the warm up should be applied to strength exercises. Again, pay special attention to the hip joint. The goal of lower body strength lifts should be to stretch and contract the glutes and hamstrings.</p>
<p>Hip extension is the target joint movement, with knee extension being the secondary focus. Using a wide range of motion in strength training, since it not only requires that the body segments be placed in a position that stretches the muscles, it requires strength and explosiveness of <a href="http://howtojumphigherr.com/jumping-higher">jumping higher</a> from that position.</p>
<p>3. If static flexibility needs to be increased, thorough static stretching should be done following the workout, never before. Static stretching can temporarily reduce force production in the muscles. The glutes, hamstrings, hip flexors, groin muscles, and outer hip muscles are the most important.</p>
<p>4. One more flexibility method is proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching. This procedure involves putting the target muscle in a stretched position, then contracting that muscle as hard as possible for 5-10 seconds while it is held in that stretched position, then pushing the stretch even farther as the muscle relaxes from the contraction. If an athlete starts skipping stuff, his flexibility will stop improving or even regress.</p>

Exercises like squats, skipping, frog hop, sprints and long distance jogs are the basics to strengthen your lower body. <p style="text-align: left;">First things first, you have to prepare yourself for a disciplined intense activity in order to get the maximum result of <em>increasing your vertical jump</em>. Make sure you have done some warm ups like stand the toes and pull the knees up to the chest one after the other before you get things started.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Simple squats seems like nothing harmful but it can actually sculpt your calve muscles. A proper squat starts with standing upright with both arms extended parallel to the floor. Toes must be shoulder width apart with heels off the ground; next drop the buttocks to a perfect sitting position for approximately two seconds then return to the standing position. Attempt about 30 of these the first time and gradually increase over time.</p>

When descending, do not drop to a standing position but again go into the stooping position which was described above. Repeat this for about one or two minutes then stop for a break from exercises.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Sprints are great, especially if you practice small distance prints. From a starting point, designate three other checkpoints of increasing distance directly in front of you. Do not make these intervals too large; the furthest distance should be the length of a basketball court.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Sprint quickly from the starting point to the first checkpoint then back to the starting point; immediately sprint again to the second checkpoint and back to the starting point; once again immediately sprint to the last checkpoint and back to the starting point. Next take a walk to the last checkpoint and back to the starting point. Do the exercise about two times then take a break.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Last but not least, long distance jogs will work your calve muscles and also your endurance, over time its strength increases allowing you to <strong>jump higher for basketball</strong>.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Even though most athletes today are familiar with the term <strong>plyometrics</strong>, few really understand how this training technique enhances performance. <em>Plyometrics</em> began being used in the late 1960s by Russian track and field athletes.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Simply stated, <strong>exercises to jump higher</strong> involve maximal muscle contractions at the highest velocity possible.  Research tells us that elite athletes spend less time during ground contact, yet they impart the same amount or more power into the ground than less skilled athletes.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The true purpose of vertical plyometric training is to decrease the ground contact time of an athlete while sprinting, jumping, or kicking. Ground contact time can simply be seen as the phase of time that elapses while the eccentric contraction (stretch) of a muscle group is reversed and the concentric contraction (contract) of that group begins.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This phase of movement is where all plyometric activities are focused.  This translates directly into <a href="http://howtojumphigherr.com/jumping-exercises">jumping exercises</a>, sprinting, punching and kicking.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Before a vertical plyometrics training workout, the athlete should first warm up with a dynamic warmup procedure. This warmup will enhance the muscle’s ability to perform the <a href="http://howtojumphigherr.com/how-to-jump-higher">exercises to jump higher</a> plyometrics and decrease the chances of injury. Jump for fifteen seconds with as short and fast jumps as you can staying in one place.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Prepubescent athletes should not perform high shock activities, but low intensity plyometrics should be fine.  Full range of motion is a prerequisite for performing plyometrics.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Athletes must also have a good strength base before performing plyometrics.  The athlete should maintain a strength program for a few months before beginning plyometrics.</p>
